Riinvest and Vienna Institute for Economic Studies (wiiw) formalize a cooperation memorandum

Riinvest Institute and “Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw)”, signed a “Memorandum for Strategic Cooperation”. The memorandum agrement signed by Mr. Alban Hashani, executive director at Riinvest Institute, and Mr. Mario Holzner, deputy director of Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw), aims to develop capacities for quality research projects in the field of economic development in Kosovo and abroad.

In the ceremony of formalizing the memorandum agreement, Mr. Muhamet Mustafa, one of the founders of Riinvest Institute, greeted the participants and congratulated the signing of the agreement, stating that by signing this memorandum, Riinvest Institute and “wiiw” are developing further their cooperation between them for joint research projects.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mario Holzner, deputy director of Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw), declared that the signing of the memorandum agreement, is only a formalization and continuation of the long-term cooperation between the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies and Riinvest Institute, a cooperation that according to him goes back for 20 years.

On the other hand, Mr. Alban Hashani, executive director at Riinvest Institute, revealed the main points of the memorandum agreement. Mr. Hashani declared that the main objective of the formalization of the memorandum is to empower the position of Riinvest Institute, and the opportunity of utilizing human resources and competencies of both organizations in the best way possible.

Further, Mr. Hashani revealed that “wiiw” and Riinvest will create a joint task force, in order to identify different application and research project options, specifically within the framework 20-20. Mr. Hashani, also added that on a short term, “wiiw” has shown willingness to support Riinvest with the necessary technical assistance to build capacity for forecasting economic trends. In the end, Mr Hashani declared that both organizations have also agreed to support staff mobility for research work on joint projects and for teaching projects, as well as in organizing conferences of joint events in Kosovo and Austria.

The “Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw)” is one of the most prestigious institutions for economic studies in Europe.
