Researcher
Vesa Arifi has completed a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Economics at Utrecht University, and a Master’s degree in Law and Economics at Utrecht University. Her academic work explored the legal-economic mechanics of markets, mainly the relationship between rules and market behavior, and the economic reasoning behind legal frameworks. For her Master’s thesis, she examined competition and market dynamics in Kosovo’s energy market and its implications under EU competition law.
Vesa joined Riinvest Institute as a Researcher in 2026. At the Institute, she contributes to ongoing research projects with policy analysis and literature reviews, mostly in areas related to economic development, energy market and EU integration. She is involved in drafting analytical sections of reports and assisting in the preparation of research outputs for publication.
Her research interests include competition economics, regulatory policy, energy market, and EU economic governance, with an interest in applying economic and legal analysis to policy challenges in Kosovo and the Western Balkans.
