In 2013, Riinvest Institute was awarded a two years grant from EU Office in Kosovo for the proposed project named: Strengthening Kosovo's Regional Economic Development Capacities; part of EURED Programme. The overall objective of the project was to further consolidate and strengthen capacities of the regions to proactively participate and contribute to the regional and overall Kosovo’s Economic Development. Throughout the project a number of activities were implemented. The Development Academy was established to help build and strengthen capacities of regional stakeholders to understand and use/apply the mainstream EU Strategic Development approaches and EU grants available. Besides, Project Development and Management Units (PDMUs) at municipal level were established in 5 municipalities of the 5 regions of Kosovo to improve economic development performance of municipalities by establishing and building capacities and working on a daily basis with RDAs and support EURED and other development activities aiming to support Kosovo’s Economic Development. In the final stage several municipalities were supported by granting 10 business development related small scale projects in the sectors of business, tourism and agriculture and rural development.
